Celebrating the Brilliance of the Human Mind
A futuristic logo and brand design created for expert writers who focus on challenging existing ideas and models to prepare businesses to stay relevant in the AI era.
The Design Brief
The Polymath Mind.ai started as an online subscription newsletter for valuable writing on Substack and focuses on challenging existing ideas and models to prepare businesses to stay relevant in the AI era.
Being a people orientated organisation the logo design should convey both artificial intelligence and the human mind, whilst demonstrating creativity and knowledge that covers many different areas.
The expert writing aims to prove professionalism and thought leadership and will move to both publishing and a consulting training offer for Senior Leaders who are either interested in, or responsible for developing capabilities within their organisation in response to the continued development of artificial intelligence.
The logo needed to represent both humanity and technology or a blend between the two, as well as capturing the concept of 'polymath' - wide knowledge and learning...
The Original Concepts
The following concepts were developed and presented at PHASE #01 of Pie’s logo design process.
Each concept offers a unique interpretation of the brief, exploring the brand’s potential before refinement leads to the final identity.
CONCEPT
no.1
A blend of humanity and technology creates a light bulb icon full of great ideas. This concept is brought to life with its energetic colour palette and a variety of gradients and textures.
CONCEPT
no.2
The muted colour palette, simple shapes and bold typography create a distinctive retro feel to this design. Light grey structured lines and angles represent technology and unity, whilst the painted human profile and swirl of brain highlight human creativity.
CONCEPT
no.3
A simple, futuristic monogram design boldly using a multi-coloured gradient to represent the polymath's range of knowledge. When used with the simple colour palette and extra 'swirling concepts' decorative detail, the concept really comes alive!
The Final Design...
During PHASE #02 of Pie’s logo design process (Client feedback & refining the design) the final design was realised alonside client collaboration and feedback.
With some minor modifications to the word-mark and strap-line, Concept No. 01 was selected as the final logo and brand direction. The logo's bright, contrasting colour palette, and the hand painted or futuristic options allowed for more representation of the complexity of the human mind.
