Before I Forget — Character Illustrations (commission, 2019)

In 2019 I was commissioned by 3-Fold Games to create character artwork for Before I Forget a narrative exploration game that tells the story of Sunita, a woman living with early-onset dementia.

Through objects, notes, and memories scattered around her home, the game delicately pieces together her life, exploring themes of identity, love, and loss.

Before I Forget went on to receive a BAFTA nomination in the Game Beyond Entertainment category, recognised for its sensitive portrayal of dementia and its emotional storytelling.

For this project, I created a series of character portraits, demonstrated in the game as photographs, and as shown here, an old magazine cover to represent the character's past memories.

For the game, the illustrations were animated to demonstrate the fragility and shifting clarity of the main character's memory.

This remains one of my most meaningful collaborations....
