My creative background began in the South West and with a love for illustration and computer aided design. At 21 I pursued this love with a BA Honors course in 'Graphics' in South Wales and came out with a First Class Honors Degree.
I then gained six years professional experience in the industry:
I first started working as an artworker for a large print firm in Cardiff where I learned valuable skills related to the print process, particularly for large format printing such as billboards and banners. I produced posters and billboards for clients like JC Decaux and Sainsburys.
I then moved to Manchester to work for a New Product Development Department in one of the UK's largest suppliers of educational and teaching resources. I designed brands, packaging and engaging graphics for a range of different educational resources, teaching aids and educational games for schools. My work was sold in the 'Hope', 'Philip & Tacey' and 'NES' catalogues.
I then pursued a more commercially creative role in designing greeting cards, gift bags, party products and gift wrap for one of the UK's leading manufacturer and distributor of giftware products in Skelmersdale.
In 2011 I moved back to the South West to become a freelance graphic designer and set up "Design By Pie". Since then I have worked solely developing affordable logos for start-up businesses and providing general graphic design support for a wide range of businesses.
