In 2016 I was approached to design a logo for a unique clothing business for women. The challenge was to design a logo that had subtle accents of Indian design whilst conveying traditional Exmoor countryside values.
I started with a few mood boards that inspired and encompassed the overall feel for the final brand and then presented three initial concepts with either a hand drawn stag or scripted text decorated with elements of Eastern influence. After a few discussions and revisions the final design was realised - a beautiful hand drawn stag, detailed with patterns inspired by an Eastern bride's Henna art.
The swing tag and woven label were designed using details of the stag's horns and face as a key graphical element. This concept was then rolled out over the other visual elements of the brand including press releases, social media posts and website photography.
"We have worked with Emma for the past two years on bringing our brand to life and consider her to be part of our core team.
As we have been working together from the start of the project Emma understands what we stand for and ensures that all of our designs are in sync with the ethos of Hawkcombe Country Outfitters.
We would wholeheartedly recommend using Emma and believe that the work she has produced for us rivals anything from the big creative agencies in London and other cities."
